R.I.S.E., one of three 2023 Community Arts Award finalists, told us more about their work and the importance of being recognized this year.
Describe the work of your organization, and why this work is important.
At R.I.S.E., we envision a world where communities are transformed because young people and emerging creatives have access to safe, inclusive spaces for self-expression and personal growth through the arts. We believe that integrity and vulnerability are our superpower. We create a safe space where individuals are empowered to embrace their vulnerability and use it as a strength to grow and thrive. Our holistic approach is responsive to the needs of our community, and we strive to nurture individuals not only in the arts, but also in their personal and professional development. Collaboration is at the core of our values, and we are always open to working with young people, creatives, and other organizations to empower and leave a lasting legacy.
