Porch View Dances

Porch View Dances (PVD): ‘Real People Dancing In Real Spaces’, an annual award-winning community dance event that engages everyday people as creators, storytellers, and performers – many of whom have never danced before. Audience members are guided through the neighbourhood to see new dance works created by professional choreographers on the front porches and lawns of residential homes. The performance culminates in a “Flock Landing” at the local park, where audience members of all ages and mobility levels are invited to participate in the dance.

Presented by Kaeja d’Dance, PVD celebrates the stories of people in our city, taking dance out of the theatre and into our daily lives, sending the powerful message that art is for everyone.

STARTING LOCATION: London Street, Seaton Village (between Euclid and Palmerston)

*ACCESSIBILITY MATTERS*: Sunday, July 20, at 2 PM is the designated Accessible Day, featuring ASL interpretation and wheelchair assistance. Wheelchair-friendly routes and volunteers are available every day of the festival. E-mail kaeja@kaeja.org for more information.

WHAT TO BRING: Seating is general. We encourage you to bring water, and a folding stool, blanket or cushion for sitting, if you prefer. We encourage you to dress appropriately and don’t forget to bring sun protection!

INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event of inclement weather, please visit our website and follow us on social media for the latest updates.

Arts in Summerlea Park

Braeburn Neighbourhood Place in partnership with Arts Etobicoke will activate Summerlea Park from mid-August to early-September 2025 with a series of arts and cultural events connecting residents from Elms-Old Rexdale and surrounding, under-resourced neighbourhoods in North Etobicoke. This free arts workshop program, developed through community consultation, will focus on dance and rhythm as cultural practices that celebrate diverse cultural traditions through a shared form of creative expression. Community participants will also co-design and install an artist-led temporary public art installation. These events will culminate in the Park Party—a large-scale celebration featuring live performances, free food, and arts activities.
