External Event Open Canvas Project in partnership with Toronto History Museums Date July 18, 2026 Time 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM Venue Spadina Museum 285 Spadina Road Toronto, Ontario Website http://www.opencanvasproject.com Organizers Open Canvas Project Social Instagram Join Open Canvas Project for a participatory painting activation at Spadina Museum. Open Canvas Project invites visitors of all ages to contribute to a large-scale collaborative painting. No art experience is required. Participants are welcome to add a mark, colour, shape, word, or image to an evolving artwork that will develop throughout the day. Originally launched in Toronto in 2001 by artists Paul Aloisi and Charlie Green, Open Canvas Project creates “no rules” painting sessions in public spaces, cultural events, schools, museums, and community settings. Each session becomes a shared creative experience and a record of the people, place, and moment in which it was made. At Spadina Museum (which neighbours Casa Loma), visitors are invited to take part in the process, watch the painting unfold, and consider how creative expression can bring people together in shared public and cultural spaces such as public museum grounds. You’ll find us on the South Lawn anytime between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. This outdoor event is free! No rules. Grab a brush. Leave your mark. Explore upcoming events No upcoming events at the moment.
