Join the Canadian Arts coalition campaign and help preserve federal arts funding

Graphic from the Canadian Arts Coalition with a dark red background. On the left, white text reads: “Canada Council for the Arts & Canadian Heritage budgets are AT RISK.” On the right, white text reads: “ACT NOW. Sign and share our letter for the future of arts in Canada.” The Canadian Arts Coalition logo appears at the top of both sections.

The arts need your voice.

Across Canada, the Canadian Arts Coalition is asking for your support: despite the strong case for continued and increased public investment in the arts, the federal government is considering cuts to the very programs that sustain our sector.

Arts funding through the Canada Council for the Arts and the Department of Canadian Heritage supports thousands of artists and organizations nationwide, including right here in Toronto.

We cannot afford to lose ground, which is why your voice is so important.

The Canadian Arts Coalition has made it easy for everyone—artists, arts workers, and art lovers—to take part. By adding your voice to their national letter-writing campaign and sharing widely in your networks, you can make a difference in just minutes.

  • Sign and send a letter directly to your MP, the Prime Minister, and key Cabinet members using their simple online tool
  • Add your story if you can: including a short note at the top of your letter about how the arts have impacted your life or community carries enormous weight. See some examples here
  • Share the campaign: tell your networks, post on your socials, and invite others to join. You can also share Toronto Arts’ Instagram post about the campaign by clicking here

Help us remind our federal government leaders that the arts are not optional—they are essential to Canada’s future.
