Join the Canadian Arts coalition campaign and help preserve federal arts funding September 17, 2025 Share via Email Share on Facebook Share on LinkedIn The arts need your voice. Across Canada, the Canadian Arts Coalition is asking for your support: despite the strong case for continued and increased public investment in the arts, the federal government is considering cuts to the very programs that sustain our sector. Arts funding through the Canada Council for the Arts and the Department of Canadian Heritage supports thousands of artists and organizations nationwide, including right here in Toronto. We cannot afford to lose ground, which is why your voice is so important. SIgn the letter The Canadian Arts Coalition has made it easy for everyone—artists, arts workers, and art lovers—to take part. By adding your voice to their national letter-writing campaign and sharing widely in your networks, you can make a difference in just minutes. Sign and send a letter directly to your MP, the Prime Minister, and key Cabinet members using their simple online tool. Add your story if you can: including a short note at the top of your letter about how the arts have impacted your life or community carries enormous weight. See some examples here. Follow up with your MP: use the information in this letter as talking points when you make a call or send an email. Share the campaign: tell your networks, post on your socials, and invite others to join. You can also share Toronto Arts’ Instagram post about the campaign by clicking here. Help us remind our federal government leaders that the arts are not optional—they are essential to Canada’s future. Share the campaign
