Evening for the Arts

Together we raised over $600,000 for Arts in the Parks.

On November 14, 2018 we raised over $620,000 at the 2018 Evening for the Arts held at the beautiful Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Funds raised directly support Arts in the Parks, an initiative that will deliver over 300 free arts events to more than 50 parks across Toronto in 2019.

The event featured memorable performances from a variety of artists, including Louise Pitre, Countermeasure, Roots and Branches Dance, The Heavyweights Brass Band, and Watercolour Jazz. Mayor John Tory’s presence at the Evening for the Arts signaled his continuing belief in the importance of the arts for the City of Toronto and his commitment to Arts in the Parks, an initiative that he championed from its inception.

“The arts are a unifier; they can bring people together across the city.I’m going to be as committed to [the arts] as I have been going forward…. I think this is the best city and the best country in the world, and the arts are a big part of that.”- Mayor John Tory
