East End Arts
East End Arts unites, inspires and enhances the communities of east Toronto (Wards 29, 30, 31 and 32) with the transformative power of the arts.
East End Arts provides support to artists and art events, networks community and artistic interests, and creates new arts programming for people of all ages and backgrounds, serving the east end of Toronto, specifically Wards 29, 30, 31 and 32.
East End Arts was initiated after the City of Toronto’s 2011 Creative Capital Gains Report recommended creating a Local Arts Service Organization (LASO) for the east end. LASOs are community arts organizations in Toronto that promote the arts at the local level, making them part of the daily fabric of community living. The recommendation was championed by City Councillors Janet Davis, Mary Fragedakis, Mary-Margaret McMahon and Paula Fletcher, and a volunteer working group made up of over 120 individuals. East End Arts began serving the east end in July 2013 and is currently being incubated by the Toronto Arts Foundation.East End Arts provides support to existing artists and art events, networks community and artistic interests and creates new arts programming for people of all ages and backgrounds. The arts hub serves the east end of Toronto, specifically Wards 29, 30, 31 and 32, which has a catchment area defined to the north by the Don Valley, as far south as the Lakeshore, to the west side of Bayview Avenue and as far east as Victoria Park Avenue.
